Valerie-Sue Emuakhagbon, M.D., is an assistant professor at UT Southwestern and the section chief of Colon and Rectal Surgery at the North Texas VA Health System, where she maintains a busy clinical practice. Dr. Emuakhagbon prides herself not only in providing care to the Veteran population, but also in the education of young surgeons. She currently serves as the site director of the general surgery residency program at the Dallas VA.

Dr. Emuakhagbon is originally from the DFW area. She has been a member of United Christian Fellowship Arlington since 2000. After high school, she went on to receive her B.A./M.D. degree from the University of Missouri—Kansas City. She then performed a general surgery residency at the University of Louisville. After 5 years in Louisville, she was accepted for advanced training in colon and rectal surgery through a fellowship at the University of South Florida.
